July 2020: Meitheal Mara is currently recruiting for four different CE (Community Employment) positions.
Workshop Assistant:
This vacancy is ideal for those with an interest in woodworking/carpentry. This position is based in Cork City Centre. Duties include building and repairing of traditional wooden boats, ensuring hand tools and fixed tools are well kept and stored correctly, ensuring workspace is kept clean and tidy, maintaining boatyard and following Health & Safety rules. Ideally, we are looking for someone with some experience in woodworking. More info
Water Activities Assistant:
Duties include organising and helping with group rowing activities, storing boat supplies (life jackets, oars, wet suits, etc.) Light administration duties including managing and filing group documents. Ideally, we’d like someone who has some water confidence and also some computer experience. More info
Administration Assistant:
Duties to include general accounts including payments and receipts book; Answering calls; Filing, photocopying, scanning of various files; Other ad hoc general office duties. Skills in computer packages required (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, internet, and email). A good standard of oral and written English required. Applicants must supply suitable character references. Caretaker:
Duties to include cleaning and caretaking of canteen, toilets, offices, hall, and stairs. Maintaining hygiene standards. Maintaining stocks of canteen and cleaning supplies. Assisting in the management of bins, waste, and recycling. Other duties may be assigned as required. More info
